SAFARI  ITINERARIES

A typical day on safari starts with a hot breakfast at the hotel or tented camp. You will then begin your game drive, traveling for hours on roads that are often not paved. During the drive, you will have the opportunity to find and observe animals, waterholes, rivers, and other wildlife hotspots. A hot lunch is usually packed (note that cheaper companies do not offer hot lunch)so that you can enjoy it when you take a break from the drive.  Lunch will be served at a picnic area with tables or a public rest stop.  Before dark, you will head to the lodge or tented camp, shower, and enjoy a delicious dinner.  If you think that you saw what you wanted to see, you may retire early or do other activities that are offered.

 

Itinerary

1 Day (Arusha National Park)

If you climb Kilimanjaro and would like to add 1 day safari trip, you will drive to Arusha National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch and return to Arusha in the evening.

 

2 Days (Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater)

Day 1 – Pick up from your hotel after breakfast.  Drive to Tarangire National Park for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 2 – After an early breakfast, you will  proceed to Ngorongoro for crater wildlife game drive with picnic lunch and return to Arusha.

 

3 Days (Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire)

Day 1 -- Pick up from your hotel after breakfast.  Drive to Lake Manyara for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at a tented camp or lodge.
Day 2 – After breakfast, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 3 – Breakfast, proceed to Tarangire for game drive with picnic lunch and return to Arusha.

4 Days (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater)

Day 1 – After breakfast, drive to Tarangire for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 2 – After breakfast proceed to Serengeti with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 3 – Breakfast, game drive in Serengeti with picnic lunch. Return to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 4 – Breakfast, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for game drive with picnic lunch and return to Arusha.

5 Days (Lake Manyara, Olduvai gorge, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire)
Day 1 – Drive to Lake Manyara for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Breakfast, drive to Olduvai Gorge for picnic lunch. Proceed to Serengeti for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 – Breakfast, full day game drive in Serengeti. Picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4 – Breakfast, proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5 – After breakfast, proceed to Tarangire for a game drive with picnic lunch and return to Arusha in the evening.

6 Days (Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire)

Day 1 – Drive to Lake Manyara for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – After breakfast, drive to Olduvai Gorge with picnic lunch then proceed to Serengeti. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3 & 4 – After breakfast, full day game drive in Serengeti with picnic lunch and dinner and overnight at a  tented camp or lodge.
Day 5 – Breakfast, Proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Breakfast, Game drive in Tarangire with picnic lunch. Return to Arusha.

7 Days (Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire)
Day 1 – Lake Manyara game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 – Breakfast, Drive to Olduvai Gorge with picnic lunch. Proceed to Serengeti. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3, 4 & 5 – Breakfast, Full day game drive in Serengeti. Picnic Lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Breakfast, Proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for game drive with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – Breakfast, Game drive at Tarangire with picnic lunch. Return to Arusha.
